As the first Director of Marketing and Communications at MKIS, I led the transition from a decentralized approach to a sophisticated, board-level strategic function. Beyond establishing the department’s infrastructure, I worked alongside the Head of School to integrate brand strategy into every facet of the institution. This role was pivotal in driving sustainable growth and fostering a deeper connection across the school’s diverse global community.
Job Summary
Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Institutional Strategy: Served as a key advisor on the school’s strategic direction, aligning marketing objectives with long-term institutional goals and managing the annual department budget.
- Architected the inaugural marketing function, creating and implementing all policies, workflows, and procedures for social media, internal communications, and cross-departmental functions.
- Change Management: Led the internal and external communication strategy for the successful launch of IB PYP and MYP Candidacy, ensuring alignment with global IB brand standards.
Brand & Reputation Management
- Identity Systems: Developed and enforced comprehensive brand guidelines, overseeing the visual identity across all touchpoints including facilities, digital assets, uniforms, and flagship publications.
- Digital Ecosystem: Spearheaded the school’s digital transformation by building and managing a suite of websites (Joomla), optimizing SEO, and launching the school’s first official social media presence.
- Public Relations: Acted as the primary lead for parent communications, media relations, and crisis messaging as a member of the Emergency Management Team.
Community & Growth
- Enrolment & Engagement: Orchestrated high-impact recruitment events, including Open Days and Information Sessions, while managing key corporate accounts to drive sustainable enrolment.
- Constituent Relations: Built robust engagement platforms for Alumni and worked in close partnership with the Parent Association to strengthen the school’s “full family” experience.
- Team Leadership: Mentored and managed a creative team (Graphic Designer and Communications Executive) to deliver high-quality assets under tight deadlines.
Educational Integration
- Campus Life & Teaching: Integrated into the heart of the school community by co-teaching High School Multimedia, serving as a CAS Supervisor, and coaching varsity athletics.
